The Enneagram’s Instinctual Variant

Self-preservation subtype
The self-preservation type of the instinct is geared towards basic survival needs. This type is concerned about the cost of shelter, money, health, and safety. Type Eight
The Type Eight instinctual variant combines the passion for life and the drive for material security. Those with this temperament have an intense desire to protect their loved ones and family. They are also competitive and decisive, sporting a huge energy and a huge appetite. They are recognizable in their physical appearance and are never afraid to assert their authority. They are also pragmatic and hard-headed, with a an unstoppable desire to dominate other people.
This instinctual version combines the passion of the Eight with the ferocity of the sexual urge to create a highly ambitious and Instinctual variant charismatic personality. This makes it difficult for an Eight to give up material possessions. This is what makes them more likely to engage in political activities. While they are less aggressive than the other subtypes, they are just as likely to oppose an individual leader.
Self-pre/sexual Eight is an additional instinctual variation of myers–briggs type indicator Eight. They feel the need to “hook” an individual and are more likely to be suspicious about others. This can make it difficult to control their urges and can cause unhealthy relationships. In these relationships, the Eights tend to be jealous, possessive, and addicted to their partners. These actions can result in spousal abuse.
In this instinctual variant the Type Eight is also more compassionate and expressive than the average two. Although the eight is still concerned about being loved and is able to show its love by caring for others, it seeks love in the same way as an integrated two. This instinctual variant has a large heart and desires to show love and express it in palpable ways.
Type Five
Type Five is the counter-type of Type Four, and is deeply emotional. It connects to its inner world of emotions through creative expression, and communicates with others through thoughts. It seeks ultimate knowledge and truth, meaning and purpose. This instinctual mode of thinking could be associated with specific subtypes, however, it can also be used separately.
The Type Eight is linked with the Passion of Lust. It is driven by the desire to live each moment to the fullest extent possible and often resorts to force to satisfy its Dominant Instinct requirements. The self-centered Eights are usually overly focused on autonomy. This instinctive way of thinking may cause one to be feeling lonely and resentful.
Type Twos project their own needs onto others. They often seek approval and love from other people. However, their neediness hinders them from making deep relationships. Although they are a traditional provider, they are highly self-conscious of their image. They are less trusting and afraid than other subtypes.
The Sexual One’s instinct is to pursue a beloved or beloved. They were told that they were beautiful and desirable when they were children. Their parents encouraged them to believe that they could attract a desirable partner. They believed that in order to attract a partner, one had to be physically and sexually active.
The self-pres/social stacking subtype resembles to the self-pres/self pre-pres subtype in numerous ways, including the necessity of maintaining a clean environment. They also try to find a mate and are concerned with their sexuality. They might have strong opinions about political and social issues, or they might have conflicts with their partners.
Type Six
Every type of the Enneagram is an instinctual variation. Subtypes that are instinctual are determined by the type’s motivational emotional energy. They provide the reason why people of the same type might be different. Each type is distinguished by three distinct variations in the way it is instinctual. Each of these subtypes differs from the base type in different ways.
The Type Six instinctual variant is characterised by intense self reflection. The people who have this kind of personality are driven by security, and they seek that in relationships. They are drawn to the comfort of close relationships and are awed by tradition and family. Though they can be self-contradictory, this subtype is a believer and has a great capacity to trust life.
The Intimate Six is often in conflict with the Self-preservation Six. They are susceptible to jealousy, and have both male and female traits. Intimate Sixes might seek out partners who are more sexually active than them. They might also try to impress their partners by being as confident and strong as they are. They might even focus on aesthetics.
The Sexual Six is the least visible of the Six subtypes. However it is also the most feared. These people are afraid of being abandoned , Pdx.Gg and they build many friendships because of their fear of being rejected. They also project warmth and tenderness. They also radiate peace, but their true emotions are driven by their fear of losing their protection. This is why the SP Six feels the need to be “good” and avoid causing offence to others.
The Sexual Sixes often act against perceived danger. They can be seen as rebellious risk-takers, or troublemakers. They could even show hero-complexes.
Type Seven
The Type Seven instinctual variant is marked by intense energy and extremes in behavior as well as material success. The self-pres instinct of this subtype is the last one in the stack which makes them successful, but also dependent and reckless. They need direct feedback and the chance to process their feelings. They may have to take some time to process feedback and may need help from others in order to achieve their goals.
The Eight instinctual variation is less sluggish than the subtype of self-preservation/social. This subtype, while showing self-preservation traits and social abilities is more focused on group dynamics. They are charming and talkative. They are often mistaken for a seven, and they can also make use of their interpersonal skills to trick and deceive others.
The Sexual Seven is a strong comedian with a great sense for humor. While their sexuality is not unusual and normal, they don’t care about having sex. They focus on the idealized connection they imagine between themselves and someone. While this can be great fun, it can make intimacy seem risky for girls in the Sevens.
While it shares many characteristics with the other types of self-pres/sexuals, it is different. The Seven seeks to be everywhere and can become annoyed when life gets boring. It is frustrating when other people don’t like them. This type is also more intense and could inspire dark nihilistic notions.
Sevens can easily get too in love with their romantic partners. They might become clingy but they don’t want to lose their freedom. Sevens are very selfish when they are in unhealthy relationships. Their relationships are usually dependent on their own desires.
